Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a quotes app?

Aurelius Meditations isn't a static collection. Each philosopher responds to your specific situation — your anxiety, your decision, your fear — drawing on the writings, era, and voice of the original. It's a dialogue, not a daily verse.

Is the app free?

The app is free to download. A Premium subscription unlocks unlimited conversations with all five philosophers. Monthly is $5.99 and Annual is $24.99 ($2.08/month). You can use the daily reflections without a subscription.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID account, not in the app. Open Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Aurelius Meditations → Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of the current billing period.

Can I switch between philosophers?

Yes. Tap the philosopher icon at the top of any conversation to switch. Each philosopher remembers nothing of the others' conversations — each dialogue is private to that sage.

Are my conversations private?

Conversations are stored locally on your device. We don't keep transcripts on our servers, and no user identifier is attached to the requests we send to the language model. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

Do you support iPad?

Yes — Aurelius Meditations is built for both iPhone and iPad.

I don't see notifications even after enabling them.

Open the iOS Settings app → Notifications → Aurelius Meditations → confirm Allow Notifications is on, and that Banner Style is Persistent or Temporary. If they still don't appear, try toggling notifications off and on inside the app's settings.

A philosopher said something that doesn't sound right.

The philosophers are voiced by an A.I. trained on their writings and historical context. The dialogue is generative, not a direct quote. If a response seems clearly out of character, please let us know.

How do I request a refund?

Refund requests are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select Aurelius Meditations.
