This Privacy Policy describes how Aurelius Meditations ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. We've designed the app to collect the minimum amount of data necessary to make it work.
Aurelius Meditations does not collect, store, or share any personally identifying information. We do not maintain user accounts, profiles, advertising IDs, contact lists, location data, or analytics tied to your identity.
Your reflection notes, conversation history with the philosophers, chosen guide, and notification preferences are stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party. They live on your device and are removed if you delete the app.
When you open a conversation with a philosopher, your message is sent to a large language model provider so the philosopher can respond. We do not attach any user identifier or device identifier to these requests. Message content is processed solely to generate a response and is governed by the language model provider's data-handling terms. We do not retain conversation transcripts on our servers.
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple receives the information necessary to process your purchase. We do not see, store, or process your payment information. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you enable notifications, your device receives a daily reflection prompt at a time you choose. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not push notifications to you from our servers and do not know whether or when you receive them.
Aurelius Meditations is intended for users aged 9 and above. The app does not knowingly collect any data from children, and there is no mechanism for children — or anyone else — to share personal information through the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page along with an updated "Last updated" date.
